Vanessa is a yoga and meditation teacher passionate about nervous system health, deep rest, and embodied movement. Drawing on training in Embodied Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Restorative Yoga, she blends breathwork, mindful movement, and meditation to support strength, mobility, and inner calm.

Description

I first came to yoga through my love of movement. For many years, I practiced asana on and off, mainly to support my running. At the time, yoga was simply another form of exercise for me.

About four years ago, burnout overwhelmed me. I was navigating family challenges, a demanding work environment, and a nervous system that didn’t know how to stop. Eventually, I crashed. From the depths of that experience, I knew something had to change.

After a life-changing Reiki session, I began meditating. Slowly, I found stillness—and from that stillness, yoga began to take on an entirely new meaning. My practice became a journey of discovery, healing, and growth.

I completed my 200-hour teacher training in embodied yoga & meditation with @arunayogaacademy and began my 300-hour training with them last September. I’ve also completed CPD (40 hours) in Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga, and this September I’ll continue my studies with a 50-hour Embodied & Somatic CPD with Catriona Leavy, Embodied Yoga Educator.

This growth and learning have been profound — and will be lifelong. I am deeply passionate about meditation and sharing this life-altering practice with others. Currently, I’m exploring meditation through Yoga Nidra, and I know that my ‘knowing’ is just the tip of the iceberg. This exploration will be eternal, and I’m excited to share what I learn along the way.

As an avid runner, I value the strength and joy running has brought to my life—and the lessons it continues to teach me. I’ve learned how much the body needs restoration: the de-stressing of muscles, the calming of the nervous system. For me, yoga, meditation, and breathwork are the tools that make this possible.

So whether it’s finding stillness, awareness, and presence through meditation and breathwork, developing strength, mobility, and stability through embodied movement, or releasing tension through restorative yoga, I’m committed to creating a space for it.

Now based in The Olive Room at The Palms Health & Wellbeing Centre, I offer:

Embodied Yoga – Wednesdays at 6:30pm (4-week blocks) Beginning September 3rd

Rest & Restore Workshops – deep rest through Restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra - dates TBD
